Introduction

The academic activities of Islami Bank Medical College (IBMC) began with the admission of 50 students in the 2003–04 academic session.
Admission is strictly based on merit, in accordance with the Government Order adopted by the IBMC Academic Council and Governing Body.

Mission

Islami Bank Medical College aims to train highly qualified medical candidates, referred to as medical students, over a five-year academic journey.
The curriculum follows the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) syllabus for MBBS and BDS degrees.

The University of Dhaka confers the degree, which is recognized through BMDC registration.
IBMC is dedicated to producing doctors with strong medical knowledge and high moral values, committed to alleviating human suffering—both physically and psychologically, within Bangladesh and beyond.

Objectives

The objectives of Islami Bank Medical College are:

1. To teach that human beings are “Ashraful Maks-lu-kat” — created to live in harmony and care for one another.
2. To provide a deep understanding of biochemical sciences necessary for preventive and curative healthcare.
3. To nurture well-disciplined, self-motivated, and compassionate doctors devoted to service, kindness, tolerance, and patience.
4. To build awareness of the social and economic conditions of Bangladesh, fostering national values and ideals.
5. To inspire righteousness, moral strength, and a commitment to serve humanity at home and abroad.

Capability

IBMC’s institutional capabilities include:

• Training 100 MBBS and 20 BDS students in each batch.
• Capacity to accommodate academic activities for 200 students per batch.
• Encouraging graduates to pursue advanced studies and specialization in the future.
